UV swimwear for the kids - currently a huge topic in our circle of friends! It does not seem so easy to find reliable and beautiful UV swimwear for kids! Once you've found what you're looking for, the question arises at the latest how to wash and care for the UV clothing right after the first day of bathing, so that the functions are really preserved. I've made up for you once! A real burden: the cocktail of sunscreen, salt water and chlorine water, UV rays, sand and salt crystals - no matter how it was mixed - is an extreme challenge for every swimwear. So that you have a lot of fun with your UV swimwear, you should definitely take a shower with clear water after bathing or rinse your clothes off with it. Drying chlorine, sand and salt crystals can damage the elastane and lead to faster color fading. Dry in the shade: Even mildew does not have to be. So do not raise your wet bathing suit in a plastic bag for too long. Dry your UV swimwear spread or hung in the shade. Dry bathing suits tolerate UV radiation quite well, but if they are wet, this can also contribute to the fading or yellowing. Sunscreen can damage the UV protection: sunscreen not only often causes unsightly stains on bathing suits, the cosmetic substances, especially unsaturated fatty acids, can damage the fibers of the fabric. But now please do not give up the UV protection. You should give the cream about 20 minutes to pull in before you put on the bathing suit. Washing properly after wearing: Even if you have used only little or no sunscreen, the waterproof cream of other guests in the pool or sea can stick in the fabric and connect with a lot of chlorine. And attention: waterproof sunscreen can not be removed with clear water alone! In pools with a weak filter system, sunscreen or sun oil can also float on the water surface! It is therefore worthwhile in the evening to wash out the bathing clothes with a little detergent. This way, sweat and grease are better removed and the UV protection, fibers and colors are optimally preserved. Frequently, UV bathing suits can also be washed in the fine wash program at 30 - 40 °C. A short hand wash in the sink but usually enough completely. Our favorite product for UV swimwear: Sports friend - natural detergent concentrate Also as a small size for the journey: the MINIs Attention - this attacks the UV protection and the fibers: Make sure that your detergent contains no brighteners and bleach, no aggressive chemicals or artificial cleaning agents. You should also refrain from softener! Good to know: Sun creams can contain natural and chemical substances that affect the stability of fabrics containing elastane. It is best to use only sun creams which penetrate well into the skin and, if possible, do not contain any natural oils and fats. Under the UV swimwear you should generally apply no sunscreen! In case you like some of those baby clothes and would like to buy one for your beloved little ones, just read the original post to buy them. I still remember some of my nightmares during pregnancy: I dreamed of mountains and mountains of baby clothes that I had to fold and sort by types, functions and seasons. Monkeys, breastplates, divers, leggings, jesusitos, skirts, cocksuits, frogs, bodys and wimps were piling up before my eyes. When he thought he had mastered everything, they would grow back as if by magic to start all over again. Has nothing similar ever happened to you? Maybe you have not reached this extreme premama madness but surely at some point came to unravel this wonderful universe of wholesale baby clothes. If you are already an experienced mother capable of mastering the art of children's fashion in its early stages, congratulations. But if you're still a bit lost (I was and a lot), and I've caught you diving through the networks in search of useful information, this article will interest you . Again come to my mind images of those first moments, mobile in hand, unable to limit the purchases to the essential, while that little creature kicked under my belly or feed and tender in my lap. Let's get on with it but let's leave for another day the baby bodys chapter, which deserves mention to part. A basic interior that, on the other hand, I hope you have already mastered. Let's focus on something a little more complex. Okay, we have overcome the diaper moment and we have also managed to dress our little one with a body suitable for its stage and environmental temperature. Great and we have the essential, but now what I put on the body to dress it? The star garments you'll find for their first months and / or years of life have names as varied, animal or mocking as: romper, gaiter, pololo, jesusito, bodysuit, diver, dungaree or overalls. Who invented these names? She could not be a first-time mother of those who crawl haggard but in love. How to choose the most suitable garment for my baby? When choosing the most appropriate garment for our baby, we must take into account two essential things, at least are the ones that I always have in mind: first of all that garment must ensure maximum well-being for the newborn, and secondly , following closely the first, should be as functional and practical as possible for us, their caregivers. The first condition seems obvious but sometimes we forget it by staying only with the aesthetic part or with the latest fashion trend and this is a big mistake. We want the best for them and therefore the main thing is to achieve their maximum well-being. This means that it is important to make sure it is very comfortable and allows you complete freedom of movement. To meet this first premise we must also ensure something essential: to take care of your skin and not cause allergies or eczema. Therefore we must bet on sustainable garments of 100% organic cotton and natural dyes free of toxins (on this topic I will talk long and hard in future articles because it is an issue that concerns me and concerns). Finally, it would be good to choose a garment that stimulates and catches your attention, or calms it, depending on the moment or situation, choosing the colors, shapes, and textures that best suit your first discoveries and emotions. Second, and also very important as we said, the chosen garment must be as functional and practical as possible for us. In its first months and years of life we will have to do almost everything for them and dress and undress easily, change the diaper quickly, and carry it, as well as hold it in your arms, comfortably; without the sweater, jacket or blouse rolled up or the pants slipping down; they are key factors in making this task, sometimes so complicated, from fathers and mothers a little easier. Baby romper Dress your child as a wimp, simple and useless person as defined by the RAE, does not seem at first glance the best option, but I think you will soon change your mind. Baby rompers are one of the most practical and comfortable clothes that you will find and you will miss it very much when you do not find a size for that baby who has stopped being one and has become a mischievous and big boy or a whole young lady. You've got it right, I'm entering that phase, how fast they grow ... The Royal Spanish Academy of the language, RAE, gives us another meaning of a romper, which interests us: "Knitted suit that is put to children to sleep." This definition is a good starting point to know what it is about. A romper, in short, is a garment that covers the entire body, including arms, legs and feet, keeping the child comfortable and warm. In addition, to us, it allows us to dress and carry it easily and comfortably and change diaper quickly unbuttoning only the bottom. But is it just to sleep as explained by the RAE? I am sorry to contradict the Royal Academy but in this it is wrong. True that its main function is this but you will find more and more variety of rompers with a thousand colors, fabrics and textures suitable for almost any situation. I can assure you that in the first months of life it will be a Must Have that you will not want to take away from it at any time. "The baby romper is a Must Have that you can not do without during your first months of life." As for its closure system, usually through snaps or automatic buttons, the rompers can be of various types. There are those that are fastened from top to bottom, including the inner sides of the legs, in a straight line or more curved; and those that fasten from behind, usually reserved for pajamas. After having tried them all, this last system, the classic of pajamas, is the one I like the most because, unlike the others, they can not unbutton it when they get older and play with everything, and when dressing them and changing them is a bit more comfortable for me. The only thing we should always keep in mind when choosing a romper is size. Choosing the right size is important because if we bought romper will stumble with the leftover fabric feet and is very fair if you can not stretch well, you lose mobility, and feel uncomfortable. On the other hand, although we can find this garment made with fine fabrics and garment very cool, it is not the most advisable garment to withstand the high temperatures of summer, it is rather reserved for the months of autumn, winter and spring. But time passes and our baby does not stop growing. He has begun to crawl and will soon take his first steps. The time has come to buy him some good shoes. The squats for this new stage have reinforcements in the knees and especially in the soles of the feet but the rompers with shoes do not get along too well. We could say, paraphrasing a sustainable fashion blog that I love, that putting a bubbler with shoes can be very good but nothing cute. I must confess that in some emergency situations we have thus gone for a walk but after the first year or year and a half of life, it is best to book this garment to be at home, with or without shoes, especially for sleeping, one pain. Baby diver If you already know what a diver is, it will be much easier to understand what we are talking about when it comes to scuba diver. A diver, like a romper, is a full-body garment that covers the body, arms and legs and, in this case, the head. It also covers the feet, and often even the hands, all to protect our baby from the most intense cold. If you have a diver in mind, but from the previous ones, you will understand it very well. The feet can be included in the same piece as the rest or come attached to the body of the garment with a cord like a boot. The same applies to hands that are covered with mittens attached to the suit through another cord. It also includes a mandatory hood, we could almost say, so I assure you that it will not happen, just the opposite. The closure system is usually resolved through a comfortable zipper that runs along its entire length from the front and, as you can imagine, is made with fabrics and thick or special materials for low temperatures: feathers, fleece and/or padded, which act as a barrier against the cold, wind, and even rain sometimes. As for colors, patterns, shapes and textures you will find them for all tastes. Some are very funny and witty and include ears or other additions of the animal world, in addition to fabrics according to the theme, which will turn your baby into an authentic and cuddly teddy bear. In my experience, it is not a practical item. Leo has had 3 divers and the three have gone to the box and I do not worth it without brand new, I explain why: In principle they seem ideal to go out with them to walk in the middle of winter but if during the journey you enter a shopping center, you stay for a coffee with some friends, or you go to the grandparents' house, things get complicated. Under the diver the baby only carries a body, no more, and when entering any heated space you will have to unbutton it almost completely so that you do not burn the poor little heat, so in the end you will end up almost naked. In addition, if the purpose is to take our newborn baby out for 30 scant minutes that we have managed to schedule coinciding with dad, the fastest and most practical thing is to go out with our baby as he is, with his comfortable and funny cuddle, and shelter him later with a good bag attached to the carrycot or seat and a wool hat. If our baby carrycot is not the right solution because he will ask us to get off the cart at all times, he will need shoes and you will want him to be free to move without looking like the Michelin star. In extreme climates of high mountains or countries with perpetual snow I imagine that the situation will be different. Baby bodysuit The little bodysuit is a garment designed for babies and full as the romper or the jumpsuit but, unlike these, does not cover arms or legs. It is a very practical garment because it meets the two basic premises that we mentioned at the beginning: maximum well-being for the small and maximum comfort and functionality for their caregivers. It is a garment to go out on the street and also to wear on occasions or special events. In summer it seems to me the ideal garment; in principle putting under our basic essential, a cool body with short sleeves or suspenders; but if the heat tightens a lot we can skip this sacred rule and dispense with it. In winter we can also use them, including underneath good tights and a long-sleeved body, and even adding a jacket on top. From the practical point of view presents a small drawback: putting the leotards to the small is not as simple as dressing it with a romper but it is something that with a little practice we will solve easily. If you want your little one to go like a bud and feel comfortable in a rage; if you want to pick him up with all tranquil ity (without anything being rolled or disarm); and also you want to continue to maintain that adorable and unique air that babies have and that as soon as it fades when they get older, a bodysuit may be the solution." There is a but and it is the following: its style and design. Most of the brands that manufacture cufflinks insist on turning it into a dull and cheesy garment filling it with unnecessary accessories and absurd clichés. Why, in most cases, the little bodysuit wear lacy, lace, purse, ruffled, embroidered or ruffled, are made of piqué, organza or cambric fabrics, and stained and stamped with blue or pink colors? This was the scenario that I found when our little Leo was born. A situation before which I revealed myself and one of the key reasons why our sustainable baby fashion project Kiskissing was born. Continuing with this theme, gentlemen, do not put buttons to close under the bodysuit. The snaps or automatic buttons were invented long ago and are, without a doubt, the most practical and quick way to fasten, undo and quickly change the diaper to our baby. Baby dungaree The dungarees are those pants that are attached to them, as part of the same garment, a top piece that covers the chest and that is attached to the back of the trousers, the back, by crossed straps. Braces are usually fitted with buckles of different types, buttons or snaps. The dungarees can be long or short. That is, long pants, more suitable for winter, or shorts for summer. However, if they are made with a thin fabric they can be long and designed for summer, and they can also be short and be designed for winter by putting underneath a pair of tights. For the rest, we can find a multitude of colors, patterns, textures, and different fabrics, in addition to the corduroy dungarees that are a classic. The dungarees, in general, I like for their casual style and its simple design, also because they can be very comfortable and similar to bodysuits in some cases, but they have a great disadvantage: with few exceptions, they do not open at the bottom, like normal pants, so they are very uncomfortable and impractical when it comes to changing the diaper. In fact, it is a garment that will be censored in any nursery for this reason. On the other hand, depending on what model of dungaree, it is quite usual that the straps tend to fall easily, something quite cumbersome. Finally, it is very common that this type of garments are made with canvas or jeans, fabrics too hard and inflexible for babies, which will prevent you from moving freely. All these reasons make that, personally, discard them as a suitable garment for this first stage and prefer to reserve them for when the kids do not wear diapers and move with total security, that is, after 2 and a half years or 3. I was almost 3 years old dressed in my corduroy dungaree. A classic from the 80s. Look at that low grower:) Baby jumpsuits A jumpsuit is a one-piece garment consisting of body and pants. That is, unlike the romper, does not cover arms or feet, and unlike the frog covers the legs even if only partially as in the case of summer jumpsuits. As for their style, they are usually more informal than frogies or dungarees and something more prepared to look outward than the rompers. But from here the design possibilities are so many and the range of jumpsuits in the market so large that it is difficult to determine whether or not it is the ideal garment for babies. What is essential is to distinguish between summer jumpsuits and winter jumpsuits since they are very different. And I do not mean only that the summer ones are made of a much lighter fabric and they wear short pants, while the winter ones use thicker fabrics and long pants. This is quite obvious. What I mean is, above all, the closure system used by both. Here, in my opinion, lies the problem of the vast majority of winter jumpsuits. I explain: The brands that design baby clothes seem to agree on something: they all leave a good opening in the head that facilitates dressing them quickly and safely. Most likely, you still remember those first days, even months, in which we feared so much for her delicate little head. We hardly dared touch it and held it as if it were the brittle glass. Putting our newborn baby in a traditional round neck T-shirt, no matter how elastic it may be, and passing it on its fragile head, would have seemed impossible. If you have not yet reached this stage you will soon know:) Of course it is a good idea that baby clothes from 0 to 2-3 years come with a larger opening in the neck that we can then close with automatic. Automatic please and no traditional buttons. "A good opening for the head as well as the possibility of opening the lower part to facilitate the diaper change is as essential in baby clothes." However, not all baby clothes have an opening in the lower part between both legs, which allows the diaper to be changed quickly and easily. How is it possible? Is it not just as essential? This is what happens with the vast majority of winter baby monkeys. The summer jumpsuits do usually have this opening but with the winter jumpsuits, as it happened in the case of the dungarees, they seem to forget who they are going to when they design them. The jumpsuits for babies, being one piece and having so many possibilities seem to me the perfect candidates to become ideal garments for them. They are very comfortable and we also avoid t-shirts and shorts that get in the way, get on or fall off. But it is essential that they contemplate both systems of closure, inferior and superior, to facilitate a task that we can manage to do 10 times in a single day. For the rest, as we said, we can find jumpsuits in thousands of fabrics, prints, colors and different shapes, so many that it would be impossible to talk about all of them. And this is great news because, unlike the bodysuits that seem to be doomed to eternal kitsch, the jumpsuits admit all styles and you will surely find yours. As a result of all this, as we mentioned earlier when we talked about bodysuits, we strive to create an ideal garment, that you would always give to your baby, who thinks about his maximum well-being but without forgetting ours, that of his parents and caregivers, and with so many prints that you can always find yours. This is how our reversible Kiskissing jumpsuit was born, which we invite you to meet. "A jumpsuit can be the ideal garment for your baby in any situation as long as its design achieves the functionality and comfort necessary for him and for you." Leggings, pololos, covers, jesusitos and baby skirts There are other popular baby garments such as leggings, pololos, covers, jesusitos or faldones. I am not very fond of any of them and the reason is very simple: in general they do not comply with any or none of the essential maxims that I commented at the beginning of the article. That is, they do not guarantee well-being for the baby in any way, nor are they comfortable and functional for us in many cases. Apart from this, yes, you guessed it, its design is usually the most corny and motley. Hopefully this will change, we of course are committed to it. But not everything is white or black, let's see what they are and some of their utilities. The leggings, pololos and covers are different types of pants. Longer, as in the case of leggings, which also include the feet in the same piece but without being as close as the leotards; shorter, such as the covers that, as the name suggests, only cover the diaper; or a little longer than the previous ones and bloomers like the pololos. In the three previous cases we will need to put over a sweater, jacket or shirt. This means that when the baby is picked up they will roll upwards and that when they are pulled down, wrinkles will form that can be uncomfortable, as well as leaving the baby in the air or only protected by the body. The option that we have left to solve this problem is to use these clothes wearing only one body underneath. This way we will avoid a lot of the inconveniences but, as it happened in the case of the peleles combined with shoes, it can be very good but not so cute . In addition, in the specific case of the covers we should not put under body, I would say that it is one of the only exceptions in which we will dispense with this universal basic. What we seek to achieve with this garment is to hold the diaper and keep it in place, like the body, but that, unlike this, allows it to be cooler. Therefore, if we find ourselves in a situation like the following, a coverslip can be a very advisable garment: Imagine that you are in the middle of summer with a sun of justice and you are home dead of heat. Instead of leaving the child with only the diaper running around the house you can put a cover over it. This accessory, as we said, will keep the diaper in place, will allow you to remain as cool and comfortable, and will also be much more presentable and funny before possible visits. In the worst case, for mother-in-law and critical grandmothers, you can have at hand the shirt, t-shirt or jesusito (of which we will speak next) to match and put it on top so that you do not get bored with comments or hints. The jesusitos are those baby dresses so short that they barely cover their culete and type evasé normally reserved for girls and for the summer. They combine with covers or pololos to set and if we find some model that is not too much, difficult task, can be practical in cases like the one mentioned in the previous paragraph, and very results to go out for a walk or for more special events. With them they are very funny, as well as quite comfortable and very fresh. However, I can not help it, it bothers me a lot to hold the child in my arms and have to constantly lower the little Jesus dress because it climbs up or carries it and does not manage to put it in its place. We have to talk about the skirts. We could define them as very long and unisex skirts that are used in the first months of life. They are adjusted with ribbons or Velcro and usually have several layers of fabric to provide greater volume as well as much ruffles, lace and other frills. Personally, I think they are garments from another era and I do not find any use for them today. Currently they seem reserved for specific moments and very special as the presentation of the child in society or the baptism. It seems absurd to spend money on a garment that we are going to use only one day and that is uncomfortable and cumbersome but, of course, I respect all those who like it or want to use it. It is true that babies seem almost angels dressed in them, perhaps this was the origin that led to design such a garment. And so far this detailed manual on the different types of baby clothes for mothers in distress. I hope you found it interesting and that you have cleared some of your doubts. Keep in mind that from here the combinations are endless and you'll find yourself with little dungarees, jumpsuit monkeys, scuba coveralls, coveralls, jesus skirts and a thousand variations that will make dressing your baby even more exciting:) When Leo was born I did not find any article that delves into this topic so I have tried to write what I would have liked to find in those moments of so many doubts, telling my experience in a sincere and transparent way. I would love to have your opinion, to know if you agree or not with this position or if your experience has been different, that you let me know if something important that has left me on the way is missing, or that you ask any questions that may arise.
